Description: This two-hour webinar focuses on signs on sites and buildings. We will discuss the codes and regulations applicable to signs that identify accessible elements, facilities, and spaces. We will discuss the scoping and technical provisions for informational, directional, and variable message signs. We will also discuss signs required at an accessible means of egress, such as stairway and floor identification.
Learning Objective 1:
Participants will gain knowledge of the locations where identification signs are required by code.
Learning Objective 2:
Participants will understand the history of the development of geometric symbols and where they are required.
Learning Objective 3:
Participants will gain knowledge of California Laws beyond Chapter 11B that regulate signs.
Learning Objective 4:
Participants will gain knowledge of the differences between the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design and the California Building Code, Chapter 11B, related to signs.
